Brad Fant is a Registered Piano Technician in California, and a graduate of the highly acclaimed piano technology program at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, MA. Brad also holds a Master of Arts degree in Piano Technology from Florida State University's College of Music. Brad served on FSU faculty as a piano technician tuning, servicing, and rebuilding pianos. At FSU he also helped maintain a fine collection of organs, harpsichords, clavichords, and a fortepiano. Brad now resides in Pasadena, CA, where he services his private clientele throughout the Los Angeles area.
Brad has acquired a variety of experience through extracurricular endeavors. In 2015, he traveled to Germany for a residency at the Sauter piano factory, as well as visits to the Abel, Kluge Klaviaturen, and Bösendorfer factories. He recently taught piano action analysis and metrology at the annual Piano Technicians Guild National Convention, and completed the Yamaha Performance Piano Service Seminar. Brad has tuned and serviced pianos at notable venues such as Harvard University, UCLA’s Schoenberg Concert Hall, California State University LA, Claremont Colleges, The Huntington Library, Ruby Diamond Concert Hall, BU Tanglewood Institute, Boston University, and M. Steinert and Sons. Brad has worked as a technician for Philip Glass, Marcus Roberts, Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, and My Morning Jacket, among many others.
