Brad Fant Piano Service Policies

In order to provide the best possible service, please consider these basic guidelines before your service appointment:

Pets

Servicing your piano may require removal of certain small components, or use of sharp tools and lubricants. For their safety during this process, kindly put away pets prior to the start of the service appointment.

Piano Access

In order for reserved time to be used as efficiently as possible, kindly remove any items on top of the piano lid and music desk (e.g. sheet music, photos, or lamps) prior to the start of the service appointment.

Sticky Keys or Other Repairs

If you are experiencing any problems with your piano, please provide as much detail as possible when scheduling your service appointment. This will allow the technician to most accurately anticipate the tools, parts, and timeframe needed for diagnosis and/or repair. Photos or videos of the problems are encouraged, and may be texted to 704-593-6741 or emailed to bradfantpianos@gmail.com. Some problems are intermittent and may not be present when the technician arrives. For this reason, kindly mark any problem keys with a post-it note to facilitate the diagnostic process.

Availability During Service

The customer or adult representative of the customer shall be home or at the place of business during the entirety of the service appointment.

Appointment Confirmations or Cancellations

To avoid additional fees, changes or cancellations to an appointment must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment time, unless otherwise noted. In the event appointment confirmation cannot be obtained at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment time, your appointment may be cancelled. No-shows for confirmed appointments will incur a minimum charge equal to the tuning fee.

Payment Information

Unless otherwise noted, payment in full is due at the service appointment for residential customers. Commercial customers (e.g. schools, recording studios, churches) are billed on NET-30 terms. Accepted forms of payment include: paper check, cash, Zelle, Venmo, Apple Pay, and all major credit and debit cards. Please remit check payment to Brad Fant Piano Service, send Zelle payments to BHF Music, LLC by entering bradfantpianos@gmail.com, and send Venmo payments to @bfpiano. Late payments are subject to a $25 late fee plus 10% interest. Checks or payments that do not clear properly will incur a fee of $50 in addition to the late fee.

Minimum Fee

The minimum fee for a service appointment is $180, not including any parts or materials. This fee is charged instead of the entire tuning fee in the event of an unserviceable piano (see below), or for service appointments where the cost would otherwise be less than the minimum fee. Note that the minimum fee is not the tuning fee.

Unserviceable Pianos

Occasionally, upon initial diagnostic evaluation, a piano may be deemed unserviceable. This most commonly occurs due to age, condition, structural problems, or other damage. In this situation, appropriate guidance and/or an estimate for repair, if feasible, can be provided. As a courtesy for customers with an unserviceable piano, the minimum fee is charged instead of the entire tuning fee.
